Karen Newman, Manager
Karen fulfilled a long-lived dream of moving from New York to North Carolina in August of 2018. Along with her came one of her sisters and her elderly Shiba Inu named Sheba. She began working as a caddie at Denver Canine Club in February of 2019. Getting this job made another dream come true for Karen as she always wanted to work with animals, especially dogs. In New York, she was a full time legal secretary, but also spent one day a week volunteering at an animal shelter. In July of 2020, Karen was promoted to office manager at DCC.
Karen’s philosophy at Denver Canine Club is to treat each dog as if it were her own. She enjoys all of the different sizes and personalities. As an office manager, she also gets to speak more with the dog moms and dads, which she enjoys. Sadly, Karen lost her Shiba Inu in May of 2019, but in February of this year, she and her sister adopted their dog, Duke from a HATS event that was held at DCC. He is the joy of their lives who enjoys going to doggy daycare, as well as staying at home and relaxing some days.
